Joint Entrance Examination – Main, formerly All India Engineering Entrance Examination, is an all India standardized computer-based test for admission to various technical undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning across India. The Ministry of Education, Government of India has appointed NTA (National Testing Authority) for conducting Joint Entrance Examination JEE from 2019 onwards for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments, as well as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.

JEE Mains:

JEE Main is an entry-level exam with a lower level of difficulty. It comprises of two papers. The Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other prestigious institutions. It is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admissions to IITs. The Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch. and B. Planning courses.

Eligibility:-

  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 (Intermediate)or its equivalent exam from a recognized board/institute in the year 2021 or 2022.
  • They must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the qualifying exam.
  • Date of Birth: Those who are born on or after 1st October 1997 are eligible for appearing in JEE Main 2022 exam.
  • However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD are eligible for a relaxation of 5 years and hence, the date of birth must fall on or after 1st October 1992.

 

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in IITs, NITs, CFTIs: 

  • Candidates must score 75% marks in the 12th examination or should be in top 20 percentile in the respective board for admission in IITs, NITs and CFTIs. However, SC/ST candidates are required to score at least 65% marks.

JEE (ADVANCED) :

JEE Advanced is conducted every year by one of the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) namely IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee or Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, under the aegis of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs. The decisions of the JAB will be final in all matters related to JEE (Advanced) and admission to IITs.

The examination consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours duration and will be held as per the following schedule:


Both the papers are compulsory. The exam will be held in fully computer-based test mode.

The schedule will remain the same even if the day of examination is declared a public holiday
